Stellantis groups up with Pony.ai to develop robotaxis in Europe 


Automaker Stellantis and Chinese language autonomous automobile firm Pony.ai have signed a non-binding settlement to construct robotaxis for deployment in Europe.  

The collaboration will combine Pony’s self-driving software program into Stellantis’s electrical medium-size van platform, which is constructed with superior sensors to assist autonomous autos.

The businesses plan to first deploy check autos based mostly on the Peugeot e-Traveller mannequin. Testing will start in Luxembourg, Pony’s European headquarters, within the coming months, with plans to roll out extra autos throughout European cities beginning in 2026.  

The tie-up comes just a few months after Pony introduced a partnership with Uber to deploy in worldwide markets, together with Europe and the Center East. It additionally comes after the corporate obtained an autonomous automobile testing allow from Luxembourg in April.
