Ocean Networks, the Hawaii-based telecom improvement and repair firm, has moved a step nearer to delivering the Hawaiian Islands Fiber Hyperlink (HIFL) by naming Prysmian and Worldwide Telecom (IT) as its companions for the brand new inter-island cable.
The HIFL is a part of Hawaii’s Join Kākou broadband initiative, geared toward increasing entry to high-speed connectivity throughout the state. The system will span roughly 740km between Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, Maui, Kauaʻi, Lānaʻi, and Molokaʻi, and embody 24 fibre pairs.
Prysmian will provide roughly the cable itself whereas IT will present important engineering and set up companies for the HIFL system.
