Stratasys to ship sooner 3D print speeds to aerospace and automotive customers with Neo800+

Stratasys has introduced the newest iteration of its Neo 3D printing expertise line-up with improved speeds and manufacturing prices.

The polymer additive manufacturing pioneer stated the Neo800+ large-format stereolithography system, which was introduced on Tuesday on the Additive Manufacturing Customers Group Convention in Chicago, is geared in direction of industries equivalent to automotive and aerospace for big, high-fidelity elements, citing purposes in wind tunnel testing, prototyping, and tooling.

The rise in print pace is owed to ScanControl+ scanning expertise which is alleged to spice up speeds by as much as 50%, with Stratasys claiming actual world benchmarks of 39% common enhancements of time-to-part and 44% or extra on purposes equivalent to tooling moulds, depending on the fabric. The improved laser and optics system is alleged to help high-energy supplies, and is optimised to be used with ScanControl+ Prepared Supplies from Somos, together with Somos WaterShed XC+, a brand new resin engineered particularly for the Neo800+, which delivers clear elements with a clean end at sooner scan speeds.

“The improved pace has allowed us to extend throughput and keep open capability in addition to provide faster turnaround instances to our prospects,” stated Sean Schoonmaker, Director, Operations, Stratasys Direct Manufacturing. “The standard and consistency of the prints have been excellent, with a wonderful floor end that helps save on submit processing time for beauty fashions. We’re seeing sharper detailed options and constant accuracy effectively inside our commonplace tolerances.”

Additional options embody Vacuum System Safety, Z-Stage Collision Detection, and real-time environmental monitoring, that are geared in direction of growing manufacturing effectivity and half consistency.

Stratasys’ Neo expertise, which was developed by and acquired from UK-based firm RPS again in 2021, has been embraced by customers within the automotive trade equivalent to supercar maker Briggs Automotive Firm and racing groups like Crew Penske and McLaren, along with service suppliers like Ogle Fashions, Dinsmore and PartsToGo.
