Google is preventing the defamation battle Meta caved on

Google filed a movement to dismiss a defamation lawsuit introduced by anti-corporate range activist Robby Starbuck, who claimed Google’s AI falsely related him with sexual assault allegations and a white nationalist.

Starbuck is looking for $15 million in damages from Google. However the firm says in its submitting that his claims merely symbolize his “misuse of developer instruments to induce hallucinations.” Starbuck doesn’t determine what prompts he used to generate the outputs at challenge, in accordance with Google, or any precise one that was misled by the alleged claims. Starbuck didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.

Google, in fact, may ultimately select the same path to Meta to resolve the claims. However at the very least for now, it’s selecting to combat them in courtroom.
