Within the Seventies, when analysis on rechargeable lithium batteries started, Bruno Scrosati, already affiliated with the Division of Chemistry of La Sapienza College of Rome, started to tell apart himself for his contributions on this space. His most excellent achievement was the sensible demonstration that, in a chargeable non-aqueous battery system, the unstable and probably harmful lithium-metal unfavorable electrode might be changed by an insertion-type unfavorable electrode energetic materials1, thus inventing the primary lithium-ion cell prototype, which was named a ‘rocking chair cell’, confirming Michel Armand’s instinct2.
