AT&T Head of Community Chris Sambar exiting Oct. 11


In June Sambar joined the AST SpaceMobile board; AST and AT&T are collaborating on satellite-based direct-to-device communications

AT&T Govt Vice President and Head of Community Chris Sambar will depart the corporate on Oct. 11, in line with a memo circulated to AT&T workers yesterday afternoon.

The memo is titled, “Chris Sambar pronounces his intention to go away the enterprise.” Sambar has been with the corporate for 22 years and, per the memo, “has performed an important position in delivering on our dedication to be the perfect connectivity supplier within the U.S. his work has been instrumental to advancing 5G, launching FirstNet and increasing fiber to tens of millions of properties and companies.”

AT&T Chief Working Officer Jeff McElfresh mentioned within the memo, “I’d wish to thank Chris for his influence and contributions to our enterprise and business all through his profession. I want him and his household the perfect sooner or later.”

An AT&T spokesperson informed RCR Wi-fi Information they don’t have any further info to share when requested about succession plans.

In June Sambar joined the board of administrators for AST SpaceMobile which is working to operationalize a constellation of satellites to offer space-based mobile connectivity to straightforward, unmodified cell units. AT&T is working with AST SpaceMobile to commercialize satellite-based direct-to-device communications.
